It floats and rides the waves: Is this wind turbine in New Bedford the next big thing?

The sight of a small-scale floating wind turbine visible from West Rodney French Boulevard in Clark's Cove offers a glimpse into the future of wind technology.

It is supported on four buoyant floats and four legs in a pyramid shape. The legs all meet as a hub so that the turbine is held on two sides like the front wheel of a bike or a Ferris wheel. It also has three small blades. Between the floats is a 19-foot by 19-foot square base.
